The Member Charter

The short, binding document behind everything.

Preamble

"A charter is a short document with long consequences. If you cannot defend it, you cannot be a member of the house it builds."

Article I · Privacy

Privacy is a practice, not a tactic. The house operates under default confidentiality. Names, conversations, images, and proprietary work shared inside the house do not leave it. Exceptions are explicit, not implied. No photographs of members are permitted; no roster is published.

Article II · Stewardship

Members steward the house; they do not possess it. Objects are stewarded, not owned. Stewardship is a willingness to leave the room better tended than one found it — in hospitality, in care of the grounds, in respect for those who come next.

Article III · Sovereignty

No priestly intermediation of any kind is present. Members are responsible for their own discernment and are held accountable to each other through relationship, not doctrine. The Church of Truth provides vocabulary, not authority.

Article IV · Truth over performance

Evenings and gatherings inside the house are never content. They are rooms. Members agree not to reduce the house to material — written, photographed, recorded, or otherwise — without the express consent of those present.

Article V · Reciprocity

Members give as much to the field as they take from it. Presence is the minimum contribution. Generosity — of attention, of introduction, of craft — is the standard.

Article VI · Alignment, not adoption

Members are not asked to adopt beliefs. They are asked to be in the room without friction and to defend the room from dilution when required. Compatibility with the charter is the single non-negotiable.

Enforcement

Small breaches are addressed privately. Serious breaches end membership. No refunds are owed in the case of charter-based termination, and no public statement is made. The relationship simply ends.
